2012 Wessex Winter Contest

For the second year running we came second in the Fourth Section at Weymouth! After our performance of Darrol Barry's 'Diamond Heritage', we were a bit disappointed with our playing. However, it turned out we were wrong, as the adjudicator's comments were mostly positive and we still got a decent result. As in previous years we beat several bands with higher national gradings, finishing 11th out of 16 bands overall.

Afterwards, we had a fondue party back in Southampton and enjoyed listening to the official recording of our contest performance, which sounded surprisingly good after a merry evening! We are now looking forward to our promotion to the Third Section at the West of England regional championships next year.
