We returned to Bournemouth for the Wessex Winter Contest, playing Kevin Houben's 'Lake of the Moon'. We enjoyed our performance, especially the percussion section who got to play with more instruments than usual including congas and the loudest rainmaker in recorded history. Unfortunately the adjudicator did not rate our performance as highly as we were placed 10th out of 11 competing bands. Nevertheless we enjoyed the after-contest party at Ian and Ali's afterwards! Looking forward to Christmas carol season now, followed by some hard work next year on a difficult regionals piece.
